In “Faces of Saint Kate,” we shine a light on the vibrancy of the people that make Saint Kate who she is, where we explore the unforeseen beauty of the series of events that lead them here, and express our excitement for the adventure yet to come. Today, that spotlight shines on our Curator, Maureen Ragalie. Click here to listen to the interview.
Maureen’s experiences working with contemporary artists and art galleries in New York such as David Zwirner, Cristin Tierney, and Artspace.com in addition to her experience as the associate director of the Milwaukee based Green Gallery prepared her for the unexpected role of Curator at Saint Kate. The major differences between the New York and Milwaukee contemporary art scenes have allowed her to position herself in a very compelling fashion professionally here in the Milwaukee arts community. She’s incredibly grateful for the friendships and partnerships with Milwaukee artists and excited about the opportunity to watch emerging artists grow. Through those friendships and more notably the Green Gallery and John Riepenhoff she was able to create her own niche here. Her strong roots in the Milwaukee arts community are crucial to her work at Saint Kate and enable greater collaboration throughout the Milwaukee arts community.
