Jill Sebastian’s solo show spans across two Saint Kate galleries to address ongoing preoccupations throughout her life, both material and historical. Preoccupations articulates the artist’s own experiences of recurrent historical events as a way of investigating our shared cultural, social, and public spaces. Through her bold exploration of artistic media, Sebastian’s works alter our understanding of firmly-entrenched visual concepts such as perspective, while also engaging our subliminal associations with materials.
